Hey all*,
Kd7lax here...
School lets out soon! So what does this mean?

Well It means I will have some more time to devote to projects, and that means there will be more content on this website.

This year I am going to try and start a kit business, it will be a separate website. But I have several ideas for kits and will soon be posting my prototypes and ideas on this website (stay tuned).

The kit business should generate a lot of content for this website.

A couple of other notes:
Field day is getting closer, I once again will be attending the Mike and Key ARC field day. I doubt I will have a whole lot to say about it :D I am sure you all* are tired of seeing pictures of it.

I was planning to attend the SEAPAC hamvention in Oregon, but as the date gets closer I am starting to realize that school might get in the way of that. (I still might attend) we will see (stay tuned)

I am not sure when or if the changes that I want to happen to this site will happen... with a new kit business website will probably take up all my website time :D but I still would like to downsize and streamline this website to more what it should have been intended for ( showing off my projects)... my dreams of a community based ham website just don't work :)

Any way thats all I have to type for now... must get to my calc class.

Some new changes to kd7lax.com

First Off,
Linux servers! that means nothing to you the user but means a lot to me :)
If you notice any broken links or broken images let me know.

Also new blog! ( or at least a newer version).
I have upgraded my blog software (been needing to do that for a while now) and now the skin is back to basic so it will take me a while to get the color scheme to match and the buttons up at the top. But I did get the software fully installed without deleting my posts (high 5's self).

Any way just thought I would let the masses ( thats what I call the one person who visits my site a year) know that there are some changes that are happening to the website.

Any new content you ask?
not yet... but I plan to revamp the website this summer. The website took a wrong turn somewhere and now has gotten to big for me to be able to update all the time. I want to make the website a little smaller and a little more simple. My plans are to make it so I just have my electronics/hamradio/robotics projects up and posted. My homepage might just end up a blog or a RSS feed of a blog that I can post projects with pictures and you can comment on them.

Any way, there was some news and some random thoughts for you all..

Hi all,
Field day is commin up faster than you know. Once again I will be doing field day with the seattle mike and key club. I will be running the VHF/UHF tent again this year, except this time I won't have help from WU7J.
For thoughs of you that don't know field day is a ham radio contest where different clubs/people from around the world set up stations on "emergency power" (ie. generators) and try and make as many contacts as possible in a 24hour time period.
IMHO this is the most fun out of all the contests, and it also serves the purpose of getting people and clubs to have an emergency communications plan.

There will be some changes to the kd7lax.com website.. I am not sure when they are going to take place (Probably spring break @ end of march).

Changes will include:
-Switching all pages to PHP ( still debating)
-Some RSS Feeds on the home page.
-I think I am going to kill the pictures page as I never update it and I just post picture too the forums.
-New content: I will be putting up my antenna during spring break so I should have an article on that.. Also I should finish my robot some time this year.
- I might add a computer section to the website. Or just add it onto the projects page or something.

I also hope too get more involved with some non-hamradio related electronics projects. The next project on my list is a Laser audio transmitter :)... And then something too do with a dot matrix led board and a led controller and a propeller chip :P

I just started school today, so don't expect the content to start popping up till spring break and summer break.

I ran across this link whiles surfing the web... It's a very interesting website with some cool projects related to microcontrollers. Check it out when you have some time.

Well well well.. look who is out of school! woot.

Any way I know I have said this before but I am going to be doing alot of updating to the website... now that I have updated the joelschimneysweep website and got more content on that, I now have time to update my own website ( and if you don't beleve it check out my new robot page .

A few things I hope to get done...
1. Finsih the 2005 field day vid..
2. Start the 2006 field day vid ( might be a dual release!)
3. Finish my robot and get more info on the robot page.
4. Replace the caps on my motherboard ( see motherboard post)
5. just put more stuff on the website!

Any way I hope you all have a good summer.

Well I have been back in school for about 6 weeks now... during my break I got a good start on my field day video and also got a good start on my robot ( my robot is nearing completion!)
any way I will be out of school in another 4 weeks or so... and then I have a 1week break till I go back for spring quarter... I hope to finish off my robot during that week..

Well I am out of school for the xmas break (for about a month) and I hope to get a few things done...
1. I hope to get alot more content on the website
2. Finish the field day video!
3. finish my robot! and the robot page!
4.Add more content to the website!!

Any way that is just a few things I am going to get done... as far as ham radio go's I want to get on HF more... so I might buy a 20m antenna or buy a antenna tuner and a G5rv... 40m seems to be dead... cant realy talk to any one on it.
